Get a non-refundable contribution to help with expenses when your project is selected for an international film festival or event. The funding amount granted is based on the project category.
This program offers financial support to Canadian production and distribution companies, as well as sales agents with projects selected at international festivals, as well as production companies invited to coproductions forums and companies invited by Telefilm to its international initiatives.
Who can apply
- Canadian companies specializing in production and distribution, as well as sales agencies of Canadian feature-length or short films (drama or documentary), television series or XR projects
- Canadian production companies invited to take part in a coproduction forum
- Companies invited by Telefilm to participate in one of its international initiatives
Overview of eligibility requirements
All applicants must meet the following criteria:
- be the production or distribution company or sales agent of an eligible project
- be a Canadian-owned and controlled company and have its head office in Canada
All projects must meet the following criteria:
- be a Canadian short or feature length film, a TV series or an extended reality project (XR) selected for one of the international festivals listed in the annexes of the guidelines
- be made available in French, English or in an Indigenous language
Projects that have been recognized by the Minister of Canadian Heritage as audiovisual treaty coproduction’s are eligible if they are selected at a festival or international event listed in the appendix corresponding to their format.
Funding:
- Maximum: $40,000 for a feature film
- Maximum: $4,000 for a short film (less than 30 minutes)
- Maximum: $25,000 for a television series
- Maximum: $5,000 for an extended reality (XR) projects
